I have a Kubota 2910 with about 40 hours on it. I noticed that very ocassionally the reverse pedal seems very stiff and reverse speed is limited.The linkage seems free and doesn't bind. It appears to be internal to the transmission.Is this a defect?

I sure would like to have engine heat and exhaust blowing somewhere else, instead of in my face. Can I buy a replacement fan blade for one of these later years and swap it?<br>Thanks<br>Geoff

I have a Kubota B7100D 4WD with a D-750A engine from the early '80s. I heard that later years of this model had fan blades set up to blow cooling air out the front of the radiator. Is this true? I sure would like to stop blowing the heat and exhaust back in my face. Can I buy a replacement fan blade for one of these ones and swap it?<br>Thanks<br>Geoff

I don't think so. Talk to another Deere dealer, but I believe the 790 will be around. It's the MST version of the 4000 series, but I think still completely manufactured by Yanmar in Japan vice Augusta, GA where they assemble the component parts, engine, trans, etc. The 990 came out this yr/late last yr and has a larger engine than the 790 and it too has the manual trans. At a lower cost with less problems than the 4000 series it may be around a while. I have a 970 with about 33 hp, bigger, heavier and more $ than the 790, and it has been very dependable. The 790 has been a big seller because of its price. Shop around. There are still some 970s and 1070s on dealer lots, but not many.

I have a Kubota B2910 with a 72" mid mount mowing deck. I also have a Tach-All loader attachment so that I can drop off my loader bucket without removing the entire loader assembly which I do when mowing. I have industrial tires (R4) on the tractor.I assumed that scrubbing/tearing turf with the front tires when making very sharp turns while mowing is a common occurence. However, after thinking about it a bit, I began to wonder if it was. I also assume that the R4's are partly to blame for this.Is this common, or is something not adjusted properly? Besides not making sharp turns, is there anything else I can do to minimize this? Thanks!

I just bought a new Boomer, after seriously considering the Kubota. I did *not* seriously consider the JD 4100, though I did briefly stop and look one over on the dealer's lot.

Please understand... I have no brand loyalty in this arena as this is my first compact tractor, I have no axe to grind for any reason, and though I live in JD country, have no personal experience with or know anyone with any of the major brands of compacts.

However, after reading so much negative press regarding the JD 4000 series line I simply didn't want to take the chance or have the potential hassle of front axle problems or other apparent issues. My free time *is* important to me though, and I'm not tolerant or patient with messing around with warranty work or running back and forth to a dealer.

Since I live in JD country and see them all over, I certainly would have been inclined to look more closely at a 4100 if it wasn't for the negative material I've seen on several sites.

My money is green (no pun intended) and will be accepted anywhere. Therefore, after looking at the two other major brands, carefully reviewing the chatter on the various boards, and based on my own perceptions, I made my own calculated decision.

I'm looking at a mid-80's B7100 w/less than 1100 hours. It has a dealers/factory mounted loader.I have two questions:Can a belly mower (60") be mounted on this machine without removing the loader frame? It seems a bit tight under there. If so, any suggestions on brands?Can this machine handle a 5 foot brush hog? If not, will it manage a 4 foot rotary?Thanks in advance.<br>

Frankly, I haven't decided what I'm going to do regarding the 1210. Chances are, it won't be available for long as everyone has mowing on their minds this time of year and this machine is in good shape with only 300+ original hours.

My needs for a compact tractor are 80 percent of the time is finish mowing, 15 percent brush hogging (an important 15 percent) and eventually some loader work around the house and barn.

I have to decide if I should get a known entity for mowing (the 1210), and take a chance that I can figure out a solution for brush hogging. The loader should simply be a matter of finding one. Hmmm...
